DESCRIPTION:We invite YOU to the National Festival of Synodality at Glasgow Caledonian University\, a day inspired by Pope Francis’ call to be “witnesses to synodality.” The Festival will focus on Conversation in the Spirit\, a simple and powerful way of communal discernment rooted in listening\, conversion and mission. \nThe day will celebrate the fruits already flourishing in the Church in Scotland and include input from Bishop Alan McGuckian SJ\, Fr David McCallum SJ and Sandra Chaoul. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience Conversation in the Spirit firsthand. Lunch is included. \nAll are welcome\, especially those involved in parish and diocesan life\, pastoral councils\, schools and faith organisations. \nTickets: £65. DESCRIPTION:Prior Simon and the Community of Pluscarden Abbey have pleasure in announcing this year’s Pluscarden Pentecost Lectures which will take place from the afternoon of 26 May until the morning of 28 May. Each year\, since 1994\,  they invite a distinguished theologian to deliver a series of four lectures\, to which all are welcome. There is no charge for attending. The Lectures take place in St Scholastica’s Guesthouse; tea and coffee are provided\, plus lunch on the Wednesday. DESCRIPTION:The Feast of Saints Peter and Paul is celebrated annually on June 29th. It’s a solemnity\, the highest rank for a liturgical feast in the Catholic Church\, commemorating the martyrdom of these two prominent apostles. While they were very different individuals\, their combined influence on the early Church is recognized by this shared feast day.  \nThe traditional Peter’s Pence collection takes place on this day. It is a concrete way to support the Holy Father in his mission of service to the universal Church. \n Peter’s Pence is a gesture of communion and participation in the Pope’s mission to proclaim the Gospel\, promote peace\, and spread Christian charity. \n To support this initiative\, the Secretariat for the Economy and the Dicastery for Communication of the Holy See have prepared informational and multimedia materials to illustrate its significance.
