DESCRIPTION:Join the Cecilian Choir at St Andrew’s RC Cathedral\, Nethergate\, Dundee on Monday 30th March\, 7.00-8.30pm as they perform The Crucifixion\, bringing this masterpiece to the Diocese of Dunkeld as it prepares for Easter. \n\n\n\nSir John Stainer’s The Crucifixion: A Meditation on the Sacred Passion of the Holy Redeemer is one of the most enduring and widely performed choral works in the English-speaking world. \n\n\n\nComposed in 1887\, it was designed as a liturgical tool for Passiontide\, leading up to Easter. Its significance in Easter preparation lies in its function as a communal “meditation” rather than just a concert piece.
