Press releases

Parishioners of St Bride’s Monifieth, marked the 20th Anniversary of the inauguration of Perpetual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament in the parish.

The programme was originally instigated by Canon Romeo Coia, RIP, in response to Pope John Paul II’s invitation during the 45th Eucharistic Congress in Seville, Spain in 1993. Since then many parishioners have undertaken the commitment of an hour before the Blessed Sacrament between 9 am and 8 pm, five-days a week.

Fr Kevin Golden, parish priest of St Bride’s gave thanks for the commitment, offering Mass for the repose of the souls of Canon Coia and Deacon David Forsyth, and all the deceased of the parish who had been part of the programme over the last 20 years.
