Dunkeld Representative Backs Call for Ban on Trade with Israeli Settlements

Press releases

Susan McAllion, Dunkeld’s representative on the Scottish Catholic Church’s National Justice and Peace Commission, has joined international calls for an end to trade with Israeli settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories.

“Justice & Peace Scotland has joined with over 80 international organisations to launch a new campaign calling for a ban on trade with Israel’s illegal settlements in the occupied Palestinian territories,” Susan McAllion said. “These settlements violate international law, devastate Palestinian lives, and threaten hopes for peace.”

The campaign is supported by a new report, Trading with Illegal Settlements: How Foreign States and Corporations Enable Israel’s Illegal Settlement Enterprise, which is endorsed by Justice & Peace Scotland alongside Christian Aid, CAFOD, Pax Christi and other leading organisations.

The initiative aims to increase international pressure on governments and corporations to end practices that enable the continuation of settlements declared illegal under international law.
