Dunkeld’s Clergy changes – August 2022

Bishop Stephen Robson has announced the following clergy changes that are to take place in Dunkeld Diocese:

Canon Mark Cassidy – was recently appointed as Rector of the Pontifical Scots College in Rome. We wish him every blessing in his work in the College which he takes up as from 1st August, 2022.

Fr James Walls
– previously Spiritual Director in the Pontifical Scots college in Rome, is appointed as parish priest of St Mary’s, Lochee and also as Priest Moderator of the parishes of Ss Leonard’s and Fergus’ and St Columba’s, working alongside Fr Alexander Obiorah.

Fr Jim is also to be Co-ordinating Chaplain to the Ninewells group of hospitals, having the responsibility primarily of drawing up and supervising the rota for those city priest-chaplains who serve Ninewells. 

Fr Tobias Okoro – currently Parish Priest of Forfar and Kirriemuir, is appointed as parish priest of St Pius X, Douglas, Dundee and St Patrick’s in Stobswell, Dundee, in succession to Fr Ninian Doohan as from the weekend of 20/21st August,2022 In addition, Bishop Stephen has appointed Fr Tobias as Vicar Episcopal for Religious and Consecrated Life in the Diocese.  

Fr Dijo Thomas CST – who is currently residing at St Ninian’s, Dundee, has been appointed parish priest of St Fergus, Forfar and St Anthony’s, Kirriemuir from 20th/21st August, 2022

Fr Nicholas Hodgson STB JCL – from the Archdiocese of St Andrews and Edinburgh, currently parish priest of St Margaret’s, Duns, and St Andrew’s, Eyemouth, has been granted permission by Archbishop Cushley to come for pastoral work to our diocese. He will reside in the parish house of Our Lady Of Victories, Hilltown, Dundee and will assist Canon Kevin Golden VG in the cluster of parishes – St Andrew’s Cathedral, Our Lady of Good Counsel, Broughty Ferry and Our Lady of Victories, Forebank.
