39 parishioners from St Columba’s, Cupar and their parish priest Canon Pat McInally took part in a Family Pilgrimage to Salamanca. The pilgrimage began at the Royal Scots College, Salamanca, and included a visit to the tomb of St Teresa at Alba de Tormes. After the celebration of Mass the group enjoyed a picnic lunch on the river bank. The group also visited St Joseph’s Convent, Avila, where Mass was celebrated in the Chapel where Jesus appeared to St. Teresa. Pilgrims also visited La Granja and enjoyed a spectacular fountain display in the Royal Palace Gardens.

The final highlight of the pilgrimage was the celebration of Mass at the tomb of St John of the Cross at Segovia.
