Prayers for those who have suffered from abuse

Andrew Mitchell Press releases, Safeguarding

The Bishops of Scotland have established a Day of Prayer for those who have suffered abuse to be marked each year on the Friday following Ash Wednesday.

Parishes across the diocese held Holy Hours ‘Service of Acknowledgment, Prayer and Reflection’, on Friday 4th March, excerpts of the prayers were also used at the daily Mass on that day either as intercessory prayers or as an extended Penitential Rite.

The suggested Eucharistic Prayers for Reconciliation are also appropriate.

Bishop Stephen Robson celebrated Mass on that day, Friday 4th March, at 1pm in St Andrew’s Cathedral, Dundee – preceded by Stations of the Cross. The Mass was live-streamed – www.dunkelddiocese.co.uk/livestream
