The Bishopsโ Conference of Scotland has warmly congratulated Lady Rita Rae on her appointment as a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) in The Kingโs New Yearโs Honours List.
Lady Rae is recognised for her outstanding service to the Catholic Church in Scotland, particularly through her leadership as Chair of the Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency and her long-standing commitment to the protection of children and vulnerable people. She has also served on the national tribunal, supported adoption and family services, and contributed to Catholic communications.
Her distinguished public career includes service as a Senator of the College of Justice and High Court judge, as well as being the first working female Rector of the University of Glasgow.
