“Light a Prayer for Peace”
On Tuesday 7th October, we invite parishes, where possible, to open their churches to allow parishioners to come in, light a candle, and pray for justice and peace for all peoples of the Holy Land: Palestinian and Israeli; Christians, Muslims, and Jews. For those unable to come to church, we are asking them to light a candle or say a prayer at home. This action can support the call from the Bishops of Scotland to keep Oct 7th as a day of prayer for peace.
Justice & Peace Scotland invites you to “Pray and Act for Gaza” as we approach two years of war in the Holy Land. On Tuesday 7th October, please join our “Light a Prayer for Peace” action by lighting a candle and saying a prayer for peace. You are also encouraged to write to your MP urgently calling for action to end the suffering in Gaza.

We warmly invite your parish community to join us in this action of faith and solidarity. Together, through prayer and advocacy, we can shine a light in the darkness and stand with those most in need.
