Michael McGrath KSG, Assistant General Secretary to Bishops’ Conference of Scotland has announced that an important stage in the establishment of the new Scottish Catholic Safeguarding Standards Agency (SCSSA) has been reached, with the launch of a recruitment campaign for Board Directors for the agency.

“We are keen for all in the Catholic community (and beyond) to know that Lady Rae is actively recruiting people with the relevant professional expertise to become Board Directors,” said Mr McGrath.

“Detailed information is provided in this edition of Safeguarding Matters

Dunkeld’s Diocesan Safeguarding Coordinator, Mr John Smith, invites all Parish Safeguarding Coordinators to share this edition widely and also to highlight that the Agency is currently holding a recruitment campaign.

“To govern the organisation, the SCSSA are putting together a new Board, led by the Hon. Lady Rae. They are looking for Board Members from a broad range of backgrounds, but with a common theme as above – to ensure safeguarding and to rebuild trust and confidence in the ways in which children and vulnerable adults are kept safe in all Church premises and activities, and with all Church personnel.”

“They are keen to hear from candidates with a range of backgrounds and skills sets.”
