On Sunday 15th May, NET Ministries delivered a youth retreat for the Catholic schools within the Diocese of Dunkeld.  The event took place at Our Lady of Victories, Dundee.

The theme for the day was ‘Fully Alive’, delivered by a team of missionaries who focus on sharing a life that is purposeful, joy-filled and Christ centred.  Through a variety of games, talks, entertainment, small-group conversations and prayer, our pupils had the opportunity to explore the truth of who they are as God’s children and how true joy and meaning in life are found by accepting Christ’s gift of salvation and living as His disciple.

Mr Paul Allaker, chaplain at Kilgraston School, brought a group of young people to Dundee. He said “The gift of joy was most certainly evident throughout the day, and the energy of the NET Ministries missionaries was infectious!”

“St Augustine wrote in his Confessions, ‘You have made us for yourself, O Lord, and our hearts are restless until they rest in You.’ ”

“Building on the emphasis throughout the day of listening, acceptance and encouragement, the day concluded with an extended time for our children to pray and respond to God’s invitation to receive his love.  A great joy was that so many took up the opportunity to go to Confession!”

The retreat concluded with Mass celebrated by Bishop Stephen and Canon Tom Shields.
