On Thursday, 18 January, St Joseph’s, Dundee, celebrated the official opening of its church 150 years ago, in 1874.

Looking ahead to the occasion, Fr Gregory Murphy OP, parish priest, said, “there has been an enormous effort made, and still being made, to prepare everything. It would be disappointing if the pews were not filled by parishioners, their families and friends as well as many others who have a connection or an association with St Joseph’s over past years.”

Canon Kevin Golden presided at the Mass and a further twelve priests concelebrated. Music was provided by the Cecilian choir and a small orchestra in addition to the organ. The Mass setting was Mass No.6 by Joseph Haydn.
