Annual Vocation Mass: Thursday 17th September at 6pm in St Andrew’s Cathedral, Dundee; led by St Paul’s Academy. Please come along and pray for vocations to the priesthood, diaconate and the religious life.
St Columba, Kirkton
St Columba’s PPC: The Pastoral Parish Council of St Columba’s will be meeting on Tuesday, 1st September. Please, if you have anything you would like discussed in the meeting for the interest of our parish and our parishioners, please you can let any Council member know. Any Parishioner is very free to attend the meeting.
SS Leonard & Fergus, Dundee
Macmillan Coffee Morning: This year’s coffee morning will be held on Friday 25th September from 10am to 1.30pm in SS Leonard and Fergus church hall. Tickets £1. Offers of home baking and raffle prizes very gratefully received.
St Mungo, Alloa and St Serf, High Valleyfield
Choir rehearsals: These will recommence on Thursday 3rd September. All are welcome! During September, rehearsals will be on Thursdays 3rd and 17th at 7.15pm in the church.
Race Night: Our Race Night on 4th September is now sold out. A great big thank you to all who have supported our evening. During the evening the 8th Race will be an Auction Race with a prize of £200 worth of wines and spirits to the winner. We have also had an addition to the main Auction giving a full package on offer of – Authenticated Signed Celtic Top from 2025/26 season, a tour of Celtic Park for 4 people AND TWO TICKETS TO A EUROPA LEAGUE MATCH (exact details to be confirmed following UEFA Europa League draw).
St John the Baptist, Perth
Foodbank: The monthly collection of non-perishable foods for the Foodbank will take place on the first Sunday of each month. Bacon Rolls after 11am Mass will resume on the first Sunday in September. – with a suggested donation of £3 going in support of the Foodbank. Many thanks.
Mass for the Family: there will be Mass for the family on Friday, September 4, at the 10am Mass.
St Bride, Monifieth and St Anne, Carnoustie
Mission Appeal: The Xavarian Fathers, from Coatbridge, will be making an Appeal for their Missionary work, on the weekend of September 12/13th in both Parishes that weekend. Please welcome them warmly and give generously to their Appeal as they will be celebrating Mass for you.
St Mary, Lochee and St Clement, Charleston
Mission Appeal: Fr Patrick McCallion will make a Mission Appeal at the weekend Masses on Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th Sept, on behalf of St Patrick’s Missionary Society, better known as the Kiltegan Fathers. Fr Patrick who has ministered in Malawi for 19 years, will invite us to the mission awareness and solidarity through spiritual and material support of the missionary work of the Lord.
Catholic Education Matters: The Meeting of Parents (from St Clement’s and St Mary’s) of those Children hoping to make the Sacraments of First Holy Communion and Confirmation this year is on Monday 7th September at 6pm in St Mary’s Church, Lochee. All relevant information, including the Registration Letters and the date of the Sacraments, will be provided at the meeting. Parents of sacramental age children who do not attend Catholic Schools should also attend. The best preparation for the Sacraments is regular attendance at Sunday Mass and participation in the life of the parish.
St Fergus, Forfar and St Anthony, Kirriemuir
Children’s Liturgy: Please note that the Children’s Liturgy will take place on the following dates: September 13th; October 10th; November 8th and December 6th. As is usual, this will provide a story from the Bible in a form more understandable to children. A parent can also be present if that allays any nervousness felt by the child.
St Fillan, Crieff
Coffee Morning Sunday 6th September: The next informal gathering after Mass for tea, coffee and biscuits will take place next Sunday. All are welcome to participate, share, and enjoy, as it is a way of bringing the parish community together. Please, do come along. Many thanks to those volunteers who provide the items.
Altar Server Practice: There will be a rehearsal for all altar helpers on Thursday 3rd September at 6.00pm. This includes all those who serve at the Vigil Mass and at the Sunday morning Mass, and those who want to join their ranks. Please, could parents endeavour to bring along their children to attend this practice. Thank you.
Getting to Know Your Graveyard: Friday 4th September, 9.30am
St Ninian, Dundee and St Joseph, Dundee
Parishes Together Harvest Festival: Sunday 27th September at 10.00am, St Ninian’s RC Church. We look forward to Bishop Andrew celebrating our Harvest Festival Mass together. We welcome altar servers from both parishes so, to ensure we have enough seats, would you please write your name/child’s name on the list in the sacristy if they intend to serve at the Mass. Thank you.
Parish Pastoral Council: The next meeting for St Ninian’s will take place on Wednesday 21st September at 7.00pm. Our pastoral council is ‘synodal’ which means it is there to listen and learn from the voices of all parishioners, to serve the whole community with care and compassion and to foster opportunities to deepen our spiritual lives. To help us do this, you are invited to place any issues you would like to bring to the attention of the council in the locked box at the back of the church. Thank you.
