Tuesday 6th October 2026. Please read on for a selection of items from this week’s parish newsletters in the Diocese of Dunkeld, offering a snapshot of life around our diocese.
October – Month of the Missions
Being the month of the Holy Rosary, the month of October is also associated with the Missions, as World Mission Sunday occurs during this month. The annual diocesan Mission Day will take place in Forebank Hall, Dundee on Saturday 17th October. The day begins at 9.30 a.m. with teas & coffees. The theme is Catholic Social Teaching (CTS) led by Lorraine Currie, chief executive of SCIAF. Bishop Andrew will celebrate Mass at midday, and the day will hopefully end by 3.30 p.m.
Dunkeld News Issue 6
The latest issue of Dunkeld News has arrived at the curial offices and copies will be distributed to each deanery this week so that they can be in parishes this coming weekend. A digital copy of the issue will go live on the website next week.
Contributions from parishioners for Issue 6 are encouraged and appreciated. Please, send your contributions to dunkeldnews@dunkelddiocese.org.uk by 15th November. Thank you.

Macmillan Coffee in St Andrew’s: P6 pupils organised a Macmillan event on Friday 25th and they raised £2607. Thank you to the Boys and Girls of P6 and to the whole St Andrew’s school community for such a good job.
St Columba’s Social Committee: We are organising a Harvest Lunch in the church hall ton Friday 30/10/26 1pm to 3pm with tickets £5.00 each. Any profit made will be donated to Mary’s Meals. We have invited Claire from Mary’s Meals and after lunch there will be a film about the great work that the charity does, and Claire will also give a small talk after the film. We hope you will support the event which is for such a worthwhile cause.

Zofia Writes: I am raising funds for Chest Heart and Stroke as an alternative to family and friends giving me a birthday present (in September) as this is a cause close to my heart and all monies raised remain in Scotland. By stepping off the iconic Forth Bridge, despite a fear of heights, I am helping the 1 in 5 people in Scotland living with chest, heart, stroke and long COVID. Your sponsorship and kindness in doing so means the world to me. Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity. So it’s the most efficient way to donate – saving time and cutting costs for donor & charity. Here’s my JustGiving page, if you’d like to donate: https://www.justgiving.com/page/zofia-korabiowska-smith1?utm_medium=FR&utm_source=WA&utm_campaign=lc_frp_share_transaction_fundraiser_page_donation_received_-_nth_donation. Alternatively place money in an envelope and pass to myself or Martin. Thank you!
