Monday 1st June 2026.  Please read on for a selection of items from this week’s parish newsletters in the Diocese of Dunkeld, offering a snapshot of life around our diocese.

Our Lady of Lourdes, Perth

Alpha: our first session of the Alpha course begins on Wednesday 3rd June, 6.30-8.00pm in the church hall.  This will run weekly and everyone is welcome!  Join us for food, friendship and a chance to explore the Good News!  Click here for more details and to download the app

St. James, Kinross

Alpha: Session 4 of our fortnightly Alpha course continues on Thursday 4th June, 6.30-8.00pm in the church hall.  You are very welcome to join us and, if you haven’t already, you can download the app here.

St. Fillan, Crieff

First Holy Communion – the children of St Dominic’s Primary School will be celebrating their First Holy Communion on Saturday 6th June at 10.00am. Please keep the boys and girls in your prayers as they prepare to take a profound step in their spiritual journey, enabling them to actively participate in the central mystery of the Christian faith.

St. John the Baptist, Perth

First Holy Communion – our beloved children will be making their first Holy Communion on Saturday, June 6, @10am in the Church. Our prayer for them as they make their journey to Christ.

Catholic Education Mass: We shall be hosting this year’s Catholic Education Mass for all the Catholic schools in the diocese on June 4 @6pm. Bishop Andrew will preside over the Mass.

St. Leonard & St. Fergus, Dundee

Pre-Lourdes Mass: The Dunkeld Diocesan Lourdes Pilgrimage Committee invite you to join us for our pre-pilgrimage Mass which will be held in St Leonard & St Fergus Church, Dundee at 7pm on Wednesday 24th of June 2026. There will be refreshments in the Church Hall after Mass, and we would be delighted to see you there.

St. Columba, Kirkton

Open Doors: Wednesdays, 11am to 1pm. Come and enjoy tea, coffee, soup, warmth and friendship.

St. Mary’s, Forebank

70s Night:  Friday 19th June from 7pm, doors open 6.30pm.  Featuring Dundee’s youngest DJ (of the 1970s!), Ged Gilmartin, and including a quiz.  Bring your own bottle!  Tickets £10 from Clare Fulton (scampi in a basket/chicken in a basket included in the price).

St. Mary, Lochee

St. Margaret’s Pilgrimage, Sunday 14th June – coach leaves St Mary’s at 12 noon. Procession at 2pm and Mass at 3pm. Visit also to the grave of the first Parish Priest (Fr McKerrell’s) of St Mary’s Lochee. Sign-up sheet in the porch. Cost £10 per person. St. Clement, Dundee

St. Clement’s Choir – a choir practice will be held after Mass on the First Sunday of the month. Next practice Sunday 7th June . This will enable us to go over the hymns for the next 5 weeks. Any questions please contact Margaret Taylor.

St. Anne, Carnoustie

Foodbank appeal – at the last Parish Meeting in St Anne’s Carnoustie, it was suggested that a letter be put in our Newsletter asking if it would be possible for every family/individual to donate at least ONE food item per week/fortnight. This would greatly help the food bank that is distributed by the local British Legion.

St. Fergus, Forfar and St. Anthony, Kirriemuir

First Holy Communion – this will be celebrated on Sunday 7th June, when 3 children will receive the Sacrament. Afterwards there will be a celebration in the Hall which everyone is invited to attend. A list has been put up at the back of the church if anyone would like to provide food for the event.

St. Mungo, Alloa

First Holy Communion – next Sunday during the 9.30 a.m. Mass in St. Mungo’s, we will celebrate First Holy Communion with some of the children from our parishes. Please keep them in your prayers as they prepare for this important day in their faith journey. Mgr. Drysdale will offer the Mass in St. Serf’s that morning.
