Monday 22nd June 2026. Please read on for a selection of items from this week’s parish newsletters in the Diocese of Dunkeld, offering a snapshot of life around our diocese.
Our Lady of Perpetual Succour, Auchterarder
From Monsignor O’Sullivan: Many thanks to everyone who participated in my Platinum Celebration of Ordination: the Bishop and clergy; workers, those behind the scenes and upfront; church cleaners and decorators; musicians and cantors, and all who came. It has been a wonderful privilege to have spent my priestly life in the Diocese of Dunkeld, this beautiful corner of the Lord’s Vineyard. I thank Him for his goodness to me over 70 years, and the parishioners for their love and generosity over the same period.

St. Fillan, Crieff
Coffee in the hall kitchen, Sunday 28th June: there will be an informal gathering after Mass for tea, coffee and biscuits. The plan is to hold this monthly. With additional volunteer help, we hope this can be a more regular event for the parish community to get together. Do come along.
St. Fergus, Forfar
‘Thank yous’ are well deserved to those who laboured in order to tidy the areas in front of the Church, and in particular weeding between the paving slabs of the forecourt. The work of planting the fruit trees around the lawn and the fenced area to the north, make good use of the space, by the Gallowshade Community Group, as another aspect of their efforts for the benefit of the local community and also our church.
St. Anthony, Kirriemuir
The 40th Anniversary of establishing a church in Kirriemuir, in honour of St Anthony of Padua, falls in 2027. If anyone has an idea of how this could be celebrated, please discuss with Fr Dijo.
St. Thomas of Canterbury, Arbroath
On Wednesday 24th June at 7pm, we shall have the last of our discernment group meetings. We shall look back at the questions we have been asking in the last few sessions, and make suggestions for how we reflect during the summer months. We shall reconvene in August.
St. Anne, Carnoustie
At the last Parish Meeting in St Anne’s Carnoustie, it was suggested that a letter be put in our Newsletter asking if possible for every family/individual to donate at least ONE food item per week/fortnight. This would greatly help the food bank that is distributed by the local British Legion.
St. Mary, Lochee
In response to requests for a course on the Bible, St Mary’s will run the Bible Course starting week beginning Sunday August 23rd. This course will be organised around small groups meeting at different times of the week and day to allow as many people to attend as would like. Hospital Chaplaincy
If anyone is going into Ninewells Hospital, the contact number for the chaplain there is: 07821 624124. The contact number for the chaplain for Perth Royal Infirmary is: 07842 538056. Given changes in accessing patient information the only way the chaplain will know that you or a loved one is in hospital and require the Sacraments is if you call on these numbers.
