Monday 27th April 2026.  Please read on for a selection of items from this week’s parish newsletters in the Diocese of Dunkeld, offering a snapshot of life around our diocese.

Synodal Event

Saturday 9th May 2026 at The Pastoral Centre, St Mary’s Forebank Hall: 10.00am prompt until 1.45pm. Austen Ivereigh presents live online the topic ‘Missionary disciples in a synodal Church: the future of faith in these Islands” How does the Church thrive in an age where it is no longer supported by culture? The event will open with prayer followed by a short presentation by Maureen Ruddy: Synodality: Our journey so far. Please note that lunch is not provided, therefore attendees may wish to bring their own snacks.

St. Leonard & St. Fergus, Dundee

We thank Bishop Andrew for making the time to celebrate the 10am Mass this weekend and confirming our young people. Thank you, parents, for supporting them and teachers for preparing them. Congratulations to the newly Confirmed – may the Holy Spirit you have received continue to guide you.

St. Mungo, Alloa, and St. Serf, High Valleyfield

RCIA Classes: Classes are now open for adults preparing to receive the Sacrament at Pentecost. Interested candidate are invited and welcome to register and attend the section on Thursday 7:00pm at the Chapel House.

St. John the Baptist, Perth

Confirmation Mass: The Confirmation of our children will take place on Thursday, 30th April in the Church @6pm.

St. Mary, Lochee

Eric Gudmunsen (Dundee’s Busker) has generously offered to host a one man show in St Mary’s Hall on May 15th entitled, Raising the Roof, to support St Mary’s Restoration Appeal. Tickets available in the foyer or on 07552 920740.

St Margaret’s Pilgrimage, Sunday 14th June 2026 – the coach leaves St Mary’s at 12 noon. Procession at 2pm and Mass at 3pm. Visit also to the grave of the first Parish Priest of St Mary’s Lochee. St. James, Kinross

The Alpha course started at St. James’ in Kinross last Thursday and it was a wonderful evening!  The next session will be on Thursday 7th May, 6.30-8.00pm.

The course runs fortnightly and all are welcome!  Join us for delicious food, friendship and fellowship, and the opportunity to freely explore the basics of the Christian faith in an open, friendly environment.  Please download the Alpha app to register your interest in the course, as well as being able to rewatch the videos from the sessions, by using the following link:
